Trump Threatens To Send Law Enforcement To Polling Locations To Prevent Voter Fraud in November

President Donald Trump announced tentative plans to send law enforcement and U.S. attorneys to United States polling locations to prevent the possibility of voter fraud during the general election in November.

While the final night of the Democratic Convention was underway, Trump was conducting a phone interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

During that interview, Trump reiterated his concerns about voter fraud, namely the practice of mail-in voting. According to the president, “anybody can sign” universal mail-in ballots.

Now, the president is touting a new plan he believes will combat widespread voter fraud. The president claimed he would have “law enforcement” and “U.S. attorneys” stationed at polling locations during the election.

“We’re going to have everything,” Trump said, as he added, “We’re going to have sheriffs, and we’re going to have law enforcement. And we’re going to have hopefully U.S. attorneys, and we’re going to have everybody and attorney generals.”

See Trump’s remarks below:

Although mail-in voting and absentee ballots have been used for decades, Trump insists “Nobody’s ever heard of anything like this.”

The president went on to claim ballots may be sent out to “all Democrat areas” while excluding Republican areas.

“They may send them to all Democrat areas, not to the Republican areas as an example,” he added. “Could be the other way too, but I doubt it.”

Trump’s remarks came as multiple Democratic leaders criticized his leadership during the Democratic National Convention.

In addition to the interview, Trump took to Twitter multiple times firing back at various Democratic speakers including Andrew M. Yang, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as previously reported on IJR.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden also criticized the president’s handling of the pandemic during his speech although he did not mention him by name.

The general election is scheduled for November 3, 2020.

Responses

  1. There is zero evidence of in person voter fraud. Can you imagine Fred using Aunt Glady’s ID with a wig and a housedress on???

  2. Phyllis:

The Heritage Foundation, the very conservative, freaking HERITAGE FOUNDATION, claims 143 criminal convictions of voter fraud over the last 20 years!

Voter fraud is NOT a problem. All of the rest is just noise, deflection, and disinformation.

  3. After listening to the video, can anyone explain WHY “sheriffs, law enforcement, U.S. attorneys, and AG’s and everybody” are being sent to POLLING LOCATIONS to verify voter registration? Trump wants us to vote in-person because he claims the “fraud” is taking place in MAIL-IN VOTING! The mail-in participants do NOT receive or return the ballot from the “polling locations.” Polling locations are only manned on election day. Ballots are returned to the County Election Bureau Office. In Pennsylvania, the ballots are opened, verified, and counted at the County Election Bureau Office.
In 2016, Trump’s beef was with the electoral college. That complaint did not resurface after the election. Instead, he alleged 3-5 million illegal voters for Hillary. Trump commissioned an investigation but he disbanded it without it finding any illegal voters.

  4. I am confused.

What are the police going to do to find fraudulent voters? Use K9 units to sniff up and down the line up, as in airports? He is a f..king moron, he is THAT stupid. But Matt Gaetz is also a special tool, too.

This can only be a scare tactic used to suppress voting.
