Trump on if He Loses the Election: ‘Maybe I’ll Have To Leave the Country?’

President Donald Trump is joking about the idea of what he may have to do if he loses the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

The president said during Friday night’s campaign rally in Macon, Ga., “I shouldn’t joke because you know what? Running against the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics puts pressure on me.”

He continued, “Could you imagine if I lose? My whole life, what am I going to do? I’m going to say, ‘I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics.’ I’m not going to feel so good.”

Trump added:

“Maybe I’ll have to leave the country? I don’t know.”

Trump’s remarks sparked reaction on Twitter, including from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“I’m Joe Biden and I approve this message,” Biden tweeted along with a video with part of Trump’s comments from the rally.

Trump said during an NBC News town hall on Thursday that he “absolutely” wants a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the election, as IJR reported — after previously not committing to it.

The president said of the election, “I want it to be clean. I really feel we’re going to win, but I want this to be clean. But it’s sort of ironic that you and them talk about the peaceful transfer when I spent three and a half years fighting off these maniacs and now it turns out everything’s there that they were the ones that dealt with Russia and it’s too bad.”

He added, “But peaceful transfer, I absolutely want that, but ideally I don’t want a transfer because I want to win.”

Recent polls show Biden in the lead nationally in the general election, as there are 17 days until the Nov. 3 election, as of publication.

  1. Your math homework is now due. Hand it in now. Where is it?

What? Your dog ate it? You get zero marks. ZE-RO

You are a Loser, just like King Donald The Loser.

  2. Walter Mitty nice to see you boxed yourself into a corner again. Thanks for the amusement.

  3. I gave up on you a while back ago to hold any conversations with you. Your comments now just are a means to have amusement with the stupid crap you write and to point it out.

  4. And you STILL can’t back up anything that you have posted here. You can complain about what I post all that you like, but you STILL haven’t backed up ANYTHING that you have posted – ever. Why is that, Lying Paul The Emeffer?

  5. Walter Mitty Once again your stupid comment (without sources) shows that you are the epitome of “stupid is as stupid does”. Keep posting your crap so more and more users see how stupid you are.

  6. The ONLY fact about the 2016 election that matters is that King Donald The Loser got VERY lucky. Like all Republican presidents since I think Nixon, he LOST the popular vote by 2.1 MILLION votes. That means that he got lucky because of the Electoral College – again. Only about 78,000 votes, over three specific states, made him a king. (“When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total. And that’s the way it’s got to be. It’s total.” April 13)

His Majesty has lost sooo much support across many of the groups that used to support him that there is no way that he will be able to repeat a 2016 win. If you can’t see that, if you can’t acknowledge that, then I might have to feel sorry for you, at some point in the distant future. You are delusional if you think that he can win. If you seriously think that he CAN win, then that means that you are lying to yourself. Take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror, buddy.

If that is the only fact that you are relying to continue living in your dream world, well, welcome back to reality. You had better stock up now on your supply of soma.

  7. Walter Mitty are you that big of a fkn idiot? Do you know what happened in the election in 2016 and how and why that election turned out the wsy it did. Facts are facts and thats why Trump is President. You are just too stupid to see and realize facts. Best you STFU moron.

  8. WHAT FACTS? I went back and reread this thread and you haven’t laid out ONE fact! Refer to 2016? WHERE’S THE FACTS? It has nothing to do with King Donald The Loser winning in this election.

You are full of shit, you can’t add ANYTHING to discussions on IJR, and you know it.

  9. Phyllis did I say what you said? No. Evidently you have no clue how the presidential election works or you have such a simple mind that you can not understand what I was saying.
I am surprised since you live in a swing state Pensylvania.

  10. Lying Paul The Emeffer, King Donald The Loser has to OVERWHELMINGLY win the swing states to even have the slightest chance of winning now. Women make up about 52% of the voters. They don’t want him in the Oval office. The divide on women is wider today than January. The same goes for whites, older people, and all POC are all wider now than in 2018.

I have asked before and I will ask again. Prove to us that you know what you are talking about and show us how this big loser can get 270 Electoral College votes. As of today, the numbers are not there and you seem to think that they are. Why?

  11. Paul, are you of the mindset that the voters of California and New York are not AMERICANS? CA has 55 electoral votes and NY has 29. WHY is it that you perceive CA and NY likely voters should not be polled or counted in the national polls?

  12. “The same thing the dems counted on in 2016.”

“So your comment of it being nearly impossible is bullshit.” Lying Paul The Emeffer

OMG, I forgot all about that! You’re so right. I forgot that you live in a conservative world in which nothing ever changes. I have to go back and reference all of my 2016 data now and apply it to THIS election. Thanks for your help, buddy! I was so confused. Will this chart help me?

  13. In 2016, people got disillusioned with Hillary, over and over, to the point where a lot of them said, “Let’s give the complete amateur a chance. How bad could it be? How much damage could he do?” Well, now we all know.

  14. Walter Mitty keep in you little mind when you say:

“I do know that it is nearly impossible to win being down so far just 2-3 weeks before an election.”

that you are referring to national polls that include CA and NY. The same thing the dems counted on in 2016.

There is something that is called the swing states in which some polls are showing Trump within the margin of error.

So your comment of it being nearly impossible is bullshit.

  15. “Does anyone know of a POTUS that won re-election WITHOUT ONCE in 4 years attaining an approval rating of 50% or higher?” Phyllis

I don’t know of one for sure (I remember hearing that no president has ever done that), but I did find this list of terrible presidents. I do know that it is nearly impossible to win being down so far just 2-3 weeks before an election. There are going to be a few million disillusioned Cult-45 the week after, though.

  16. Does anyone know of a POTUS that won re-election WITHOUT ONCE in 4 years attaining an approval rating of 50% or higher? Anyone know of a POTUS that won re-election with inheriting an unemployment rate of 4.8%, claiming it was a “terrible economy, but running for re-election on an unemployment rate of 7.9% and claiming it is “a great economy”?

I am not claiming that Trump can not win re-election. I am simply pointing out NOW that if he does, The United States of America has a serious mental health problem.

  17. “Running against the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics puts pressure on me.” King Donald The Loser

I am sure that Joke Biden keeps on saying the same thing.
