Nikki Haley Defends Her Remark That Democrats Are ‘Mourning’ the Death of Iranian’s Top General

When it comes to her comment that Democrats are “mourning” the death of Iranian top commander Qasem Soleimani, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is standing firm on it.

In the aftermath of the death of Soleimani — commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force — after a United States airstrike in Baghdad overnight last Thursday, many were split on their views of President Donald Trump’s orders. Several Democrats lashed out at Trump for the strike, while multiple Republicans came to the president’s defense.

However, Haley took aim at Democrats’ criticism, as she claimed on Fox News earlier this week that “the only ones that are mourning the loss of Soleimani are Democrat leadership and our Democrat presidential candidates.”

“No one else in the world, because they knew that this man had evil veins,” Haley said, adding, “They knew what he was capable of. And they saw the destruction and the lives lost based from his hands.”

In case you missed it:

When confronted for her remark by The Dispatch Fact Check, Haley didn’t back away on it, as she chose to defend her comment.

The Dispatch labeled Haley’s initial remark as an inaccurate claim, for suggesting Democratic leaders and presidential contenders are “mourning” Soleimani. They cited former Vice President Joe Biden’s comment as an example, where he said, “No American will mourn Qassem Soleimani’s passing.”

“Mourning comes in different forms,” Haley’s office told The Dispatch.

The statement continued:

“It doesn’t have to be literally crying over the casket like Ayatollah Khamenei. Leading Democrats are aggressively arguing that we would be better off if Qassem Suleimani was still alive today. That is effectively mourning his death.”

“There is a stark difference between questioning the strategy of Suleimani’s killing and ‘mourning’ his death, the latter of which no prominent Democrat has done,” The Dispatch reports.

  1. Screw, don’t be a fool. There was an AUMF for the war against al Qaeda. My sources have nothing to do with my argument.

  2. Nikki Haley is just another psycho glomming onto the American Fascist Party (AFP) between elections.

  3. The fact that Cherl is equating the killing of Bin Laden to this situation illustrates how little she pays attention to the facts in both situations.

    1. that you use the NYT as a source of “facts” speaks of your limited worldview. Maybe you should watch CNN or MSNBC to do some Clintonian triangulation.

The truth is out there, but not from any of those sources.

  4. “Bad Orange Man did it” is enough to cause this kerfuffle. Notice not a damn word was heard when Obozo droned on including the assassination of an American citizen. (who deserved it as much as the Iranian general now known as Chunky).

Notice how the MSM loved it some “assassination” when it was The Big Zero doing OBL. Notice how not one of them acknowleged that Soleimani’s IEDs made OUR service people “chunky”. Yeah, they hate Americans and the military. Do not believe otherwise.

Civil War 2.0. F’ing remove them or force them to move to the Blue Zones where they belong.

    1. Funny how your narrative of history is so easily refuted by facts:

  5. There is as much cynicism coursing through Democrat veins as there was evil in Salami’s veins.

  6. Not one criticism as Obama and Hillary sat in the situation room as bin Laden was extinguished. No prior approval was sought. Didn’t hear Pelosi objecting but that too was situational. I wonder how irate these whiners would be if their son or daughter was a casualty at the hands of this tyrant. I agree with Haley. The Democrats led by the over the hill Pelosi appear to be reveling in remorse and mourning because it was on President Trump’s watch. Even though previous presidents had opportunity. Think of the lives that would have been saved.
