Top GOP Lawmaker Demands White House Disband Coronavirus Task Force for ‘Undermining’ Trump

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) has called for the removal of the White House Coronavirus Task Force as he claimed their views are contradicting and undermining President Donald Trump’s goals.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Arizona lawmaker demanded that the Coronavirus Task Force be disbanded.

“As our economy is restored, it is imperative that President Trump is not undermined in his mission to return our economy to greatness,” Biggs said.

According to Biggs, who focused on the economy with his remarks, the top infectious disease experts Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx undermine Trump.

Biggs insisted the team has continued “to contradict many of President Trump’s stated goals and actions for returning to normalcy as we know more about.”

Despite decades of experience in their areas of focus, Biggs blamed Fauci and Birx for “causing panic” that has compromised the country’s “economic recovery. “

This is causing panic that compromises our economic recovery,” Biggs said. “We can protect our most vulnerable from the COVID-19 outbreak while still protecting lives and livelihoods of the rest of the population. It’s time for the COVID-19 task force to be disbanded so that President Trump’s message is not mitigated or distorted.”

On Wednesday, the United States recorded its highest number of coronavirus cases in a single day — 52,170. As of Thursday afternoon, there are more than 2.8 million coronavirus cases in the United States. The death toll has now surpassed 130,000.

  1. I do not live in the 5th district of Arizona, so I reject the “our fault” or “We are the idiots that got Biggs elected.” I also have never promoted the idea of sending elected representatives to D.C. to disrupt or obstruct the legislative process. I have never voted for a candidate based on their ability to embarrass the district or state. I do live in a district where we had Rick Saccone running in the R primary race and thankfully he lost.

  2. This is our fault. We were the idiots that got Biggs elected.

    We MUST elect better politicians.

  3. Is being the wackiest member of the House R caucus a requirement to lead the Freedom Caucus, or does it just appear so? WHERE did Biggs get the idea that the Congress controlled the WHITE HOUSE Task Force? 2020 will be known as the year R’s promoted public health and medical advice from law school grads and college flunk-outs.

  4. Biggs : The ultimate living with his head up his ass trumpukelican.

    The poor child.
