Bolton’s Spox Denies Report He Will Vote for Biden — or Either Presidential Candidate

Former White House national security adviser John Bolton does not plan to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in the upcoming general election, nor for President Donald Trump.

Bolton’s spokesperson said on Sunday evening that the former national security adviser will not be voting for either Trump or Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

“This statement is incorrect. The Ambassador never said he planned to vote for Joe Biden,” Bolton spokesperson Sarah Tinsley told Axios. “He has consistently said in recent days he will be writing in the name of a conservative Republican. Let there be no doubt — he will not be voting for Trump or Biden.”

The remarks come after The Telegraph published a report on Sunday that claimed Bolton said he would be voting for Biden in the upcoming general election.

Bolton then said in an interview with ABC’s Martha Raddatz, aired on Sunday, “I don’t think he’s a conservative Republican. I’m not going to vote for him in November — certainly not going to vote for Joe Biden either.”

He added, “I’m gonna figure out a conservative Republican to write in.”

Bolton also said, “I don’t think [Trump’s] fit for office. I don’t think he has the competence to carry out the job. I don’t think he’s a conservative Republican.”

Watch the video below:

During the interview, Bolton said he hopes history will remember Trump as a “one-term president who didn’t plunge the country irretrievably into a downward spiral we can’t recall from.”

He continued:

“We can get over one term. I have absolute confidence — even if it’s not the miracle of a conservative Republican being elected in November. Two terms, I’m more troubled about. But I’m really troubled about the absence as well of a viable national security wing in the Democratic Party. So this is an election for me of a choice of two unacceptable alternatives. And it’s not one I relish.”

Bolton’s interview with ABC News comes ahead of his scheduled book release of “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir” on Tuesday.

Responses

  1. After King Donald The Loser has OPENLY solicited the foreign interference in our elections, to help get His Majesty either elect or re-elected, because his royal poll numbers are sinking, he NOW is making the claim that foreign governments will interfere in November’s election to defeat him.

This guy has no consistency, competence or self-confidence.

Did you see the latest Lincoln Project ad? Ouch!

  2. So the no good TRAITOR muthurphuhkur

Bolton is voting for THE TRAITOR Bunker Baby.

  3. “Let there be no doubt — he will not be voting for Trump or Biden.” Sarah Tinsley

I am certain that neither of them will be either surprized nor have their feelings hurt.

What will he do? Write in a name or leave it blank? Doesn’t matter.

    1. Bolton and his wife’s residence is in Maryland, but he has an apartment/office in NYC and an office in D.C. All 3 of the electoral college votes for those locations will be going to Biden. So regardless of where he votes, you are correct–It doesn’t matter.

      1. I heard him say in an interview that he will eventually decide which conservative that he will write in, further making his choice irrelevant.

        1. My guess is Tom Cotton as Bolton’s write-in vote. Cotton is a Trump sycophant, but as much of a war hawk as Bolton. I read an excerpt from the book published on Real Clear Politics that provided Bolton’s opinion of Nikki Haley, Steve Mnuchin. or Mike Pompeo. It WON’T be any of them. Tom Cotton is not a “conservative” but then WHAT Republican is? Trumpism has pretty much destroyed conservatism.

Would a warmonger pick another warmonger for President? Maybe. It certainly wouldn’t be a Mitt Romney or a Paul Ryan or a Rand Paul.

          2. I agree with the elimination of Romney, Ryan and Paul. But the other name I considered was Lindsey Graham.

  4. When it counted, he let his country down. Who cares who he votes for… I’ll not put a penny in his pocket, I’m NOT buying his book.

      1. i might download it and have my dog relieve herself on it.

        I might join in myself.
